Private and Semi-private instruction
All skill levels are welcome. No experience necessary.
Each program will be designed to fit your artistic needs.
Our time together will include demonstrations, individualized instruction, feedback and guidance. You will be encouraged to recognize and break out of any bad habits, expand your knowledge and approach to art making. This will include some time developing critical thinking about your own work, and that of others.
If you’re a beginner, I will guide you through tried-and true foundations. For those of you that are intermediate and advanced, we’ll refresh those foundations and explore more complex subjects like color theory, composition and concept.
I am also offering individual and group critique sessions which are invaluable to helping your progression. An independent eye is something that every artist needs throughout their career.
Lastly, for those of you wanting to apply to upper level visual art programs, I can help you prep your portfolio and submission packet.
Rates:
$40 per hour semi-private (Cost per student. Up to 3 students)

$20-30 Individual & group critiques and portfolio coaching, excluding lessons (Cost per student. Up to 8 students, weather and COVID permitting)

About me:
I have extensive training in various media with visual art MFA, BFA and Cegep degrees. I also have a minor in Art History.
Since moving to Vermont, I have been teaching at the Community College of Vermont, and the Shelburne Craft School. My classes include Drawing 1, Painting 1 & 2, Introduction to Studio Arts (which includes printmaking) and more recently, Foundations of Sculpture. Along with a variety of subjects, each class covers a range of mediums. Prior to this, I taught art classes to children for many years in my hometown of Montreal.
I have professional framing experience and can help advise you on presenting and hanging your work. I have mounted countless group and solo shows in galleries and alternative spaces and can guide you towards building up your professional resume if that’s your goal.
This will be a collaborative experience. We’ll come up with a schedule and set of goals together. I hope to be able to share with you my deep love and respect for the arts.
